Office of Public Safety Report - 2012-09-14 to 2012-09-17

On Sept. 14 at 1:40 p.m. a University employee reported that surveying equipment, valued at $5,000, had been taken from a room in Knoblauch Hall.

On Sept. 14 at 9:17 p.m. one student near the former Wetzel Hall was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Sept. 14 at 9:17 p.m. one student near the north quad bus gate was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Sept. 14 at 9:55 p.m. Kevin Murphy, 18, of 602 Tanner Hall, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 16 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams) in the 900 block of North Albert Street.

On Sept. 14 at 11:51 p.m. nonstudent Kyle Regas, 18, of Naperville, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 16 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in N-Lot. One student was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Sept. 15 at 12:22 a.m. a student reported that her cell phone was stolen from a Tanner Hall restroom. The theft is under investigation.

On Sept. 15 at 1:59 a.m. Matthew Cooper, 20, of 615 Bayliss Hall, was arrested on Western Avenue for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and resisting/obstructing a police officer. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail.

On Sept. 15 at 2:06 a.m. six students in Tanner Hall were judicially referred for suspicion of cannabis and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Sept. 15 at 2:31 a.m. Eric Bromber, 18, of 1101 Higgins Hall, Eric Leiterman, 18, of 1135 Higgins Hall, and Christopher Klimpke, 18, 1131 Higgins Hall, were each issued a notice to appear Oct. 30 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Higgins Hall. Nonstudent Ian Wunderlich, 18, of Shorewood, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 30 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams). Sean Dowling, 18, of 1135 Higgins, was arrested for possession of cannabis (10-30 grams), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance (mushrooms). He was lodged in the McDonough county jail.

On Sept. 15 at 5:34 a.m. the Macomb Fire Department was called for a fire alarm in Olson Hall. It was determined that a pull station had been activated. There was not a fire and there were no injuries.

On Sept. 15 at 11:36 a.m. nonstudent Ian Wunderlich, 18, of Shorewood, possession of a controlled substance (mushrooms). He was lodged in the McDonough county jail.

On Sept. 15 at 11:42 p.m. Larry Carroll, 20, 1414 Tanner Hall, and Trevon Hughes, 18, 1414 Tanner Hall, were issued a notice to appear Oct. 23 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams) and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Tanner. Exzavier Puryear, 18, 1417 Tanner Hall, Brandon Thomas, 18, of 803 Tanner Hall, and Jerome Halsey, 18, 1612 Tanner Hall were issued a notice to appear Oct. 23 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis.

On Sept. 15 at 11:47 p.m. one student was judicially referred for disorderly conduct near Charles and Adams streets intersection.

On Sept. 16 at 12:38 a.m. nonstudent Garrett McCaig, 20, of Bolingbrook, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 16 on Macomb City ordinance violations for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and obstructing a public employee near University Village.

On Sept. 16 at 2:48 a.m. Ryan Cohen, 18, 1112 Tanner, and Zackary Tinsley, 18, of 1112 Tanner Hall, were issued a notice to appear Oct. 23 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams) and drug paraphernalia in Q-Lot. Nonstudent John Wilkinson, 18, of Plainfield, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 23 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams).

On Sept. 16 at 9:59 p.m. Caleb Boulb, 20, of 613 Corbin Hall, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 23 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Sept. 16 at 10:35 p.m. Ryan Melbourn, 19, 437 Higgins Hall, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 23 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
