Office of Public Safety Report - 2012-09-28 to 2012-10-01

On Sept. 28 at 10:31 a.m. a University employee reported that a window was broken on the second floor of Tanner Hall. A damage estimate was not available. The incident is under investigation.

On Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. Jahlil Johnson, 18, and Lord Damien Talley, 18, both of 1601 Tanner Hall, were each arrested for theft under $500 (alleged unauthorized use of a University ID). They were each lodged in the McDonough County Jail.

On Sept. 28 at 7:56 p.m. a student reported she was sexually assaulted in a residence hall room by person known to her on Sept. 24. The incident is under investigation.

On Sept. 29 at 12:58 a.m. Tyree Davis, 20, 313C Grote Hall, was arrested in Grote for battery and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail.

On Sept. 29 at 2 a.m. OPS responded to a report of a fire in Q-Lot. The officer extinguished the fire that was burning in a stack of concrete expansion joints. MFD arrived on the scene and fully extinguished the fire. Fire department personnel believed the fire was caused accidentally by a burning cigarette. A damage estimate was not available. There were no injuries.

On Sept. 29 at 9:11 p.m. nonstudent Calvin Trenell, 19, of Worth, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 30 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams) in Tanner Hall.

On Sept. 29 at 10:14 p.m. nonstudent Jessica Overmire, 23, of Rock Island, was arrested in the Knoblauch Hall lot for driving under the influence of alcohol after allegedly hitting a parking gate, causing $1,500 in damages. She was lodged in the McDonough County Jail.

On Sept. 29 at 11:38 p.m. Charles Horton, 19, of 711 Tanner Hall, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 30 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of drug paraphernalia in Q-Lot.

On Sept. 30 at 1:01 a.m. one student near East Village was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Sept. 30 at 1:25 a.m. one student in Higgins Hall was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and behavior.

On Sept. 30 at 1:29 a.m. nonstudent Niko Rios, 19, of Franklin Park, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 14 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor near Lincoln Hall.

On Sept. 30 at 1:44 a.m. Franklin Mead, 19, of 1011 Bayliss Hall, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 30 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor near Tanner Hall. One student was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Sept. 30 at 1:52 a.m. a student reported that his laptop, valued at $200, was stolen from his unlocked Tanner Hall room. The theft is under investigation.

On Sept. 30 at 2:53 a.m. Cole Kingsley, 19, of 713 Olson Hall, Andreas Prince, 18, of 716 Tanner Hall, and Derice Black, 18, of 1506 Tanner Hall, were each issued a notice to appear Oct. 30 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Q-Lot.

On Oct. 1 at 11:59 p.m. an individual reported that the window in his East Village apartment was shot out by BBs. A damage estimate was not available. The incident is under investigation.
