Office of Public Safety Report - 2012-10-05 to 2012-10-08

On Oct. 5 at 10:09 a.m. a student reported that his laptop, valued at $600, was stolen from a desk on the fourth floor of the Malpass Library. The theft is under investigation.

On Oct. 5 at 12:52 p.m. a student reported the theft of a GPS unit (no value given) from her vehicle in the Higgins Hall lot. The theft is under investigation.

On Oct. 5 at 3:09 p.m. a student reported to OPS that on Thursday, Oct. 4, between 11:15-11:20 p.m., while walking near the southwest corner of Q-Lot an individual approached him and brandished a knife. The suspect did not speak, but made a motion with the knife which led the victim to believe the suspect wanted his backpack. The victim threw his backpack to the ground and ran. The incident is under investigation. No one was injured in the assault.

On Oct. 5 at 6:22 p.m. an individual reported that an unlocked bicycle, valued at $100, was stolen from the Morgan Hall bike rack. The theft is under investigation.

On Oct. 5 at 8:35 p.m. Matthew Pokorny, 20, of 610 Henninger Hall, Robert Slominski, 20, of 813 Henninger Hall and Andrew Funk, 20, of 813 Henninger Hall, were each issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Henninger.

On Oct. 5 at 9:37 p.m. five students in Higgins Hall were judicially referred for possession of cannabis.

On Oct. 5 at 11:30 p.m. Joshua Schoenhardt, 21, of 607 W. Adams St., was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for open alcohol in public near Calhoun and Clay streets.

On Oct. 5 at 11:56 p.m. Braulio Parra, 25, of 607 Linden Lane, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for open alcohol in public near Lincoln Hall.

On Oct. 6 at 12:05 a.m. Demarkus English, 18, of 623 Higgins Hall, issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor near Charles and Adams streets.

On Oct. 6 at 12:14 a.m. Tyree Davis, 20, of 313C Grote Hall, was arrested near Lincoln/Washington halls for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail. Anthony Comer, 20, of 1012 Lincoln Hall was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Oct. 6 at 11:10 a.m. one student in Olson Hall was judicially referred for disorderly conduct.

On Oct. 6 at 10:09 p.m. Samuel Worsley, 18, and Tyler Chavez, 18, both of 435 Higgins Hall, were each issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor near Higgins.

On Oct. 6 at 10:36 p.m. Corey Mackin, 20, of 1708 Higgins Hall, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Higgins.

On Oct. 6 at 11:15 p.m. Alexander Vargas, 19, of 505 Washington Hall, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in the 600 block of North Charles Street.

On Oct. 6 at 11:22 p.m. David Nytes, 25, of 912 Washington Hall, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of drug paraphernalia in the Garwood Hall lot.

On Oct. 6 at 11:24 p.m. Charisma Martinez, 18, of 1119 Higgins Hall, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in the 400 block of West Murray Street.

On Oct. 6 at 11:36 p.m. Aaron Yonkelowitz, 22, of 812 Wigwam Hollow Road, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for open alcohol in public near Albert and Orchard streets.

On Oct. 7 at 12:13 a.m. Jason Grubert, 19, of 620 Bayliss Hall, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor near Charles and Murray streets.

On Oct. 7 at 12:21 a.m. Jesse Evans, 18, of 1418 Tanner Hall, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor near Charles and Adams streets.

On Oct. 7 at 1:04 a.m. Mitchell Pittner, 19, of 609 Higgins Hall, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of a false ID in the 500 block of North Charles Street.

On Oct. 7 at 1:34 a.m. a student reported that she was sexually assaulted while at a residence hall by a male known to her. The incident is under investigation.

On Oct. 7 at 1:52 a.m. Marissa Wilson, 22, of 506 Henninger Hall, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for open alcohol in public near Charles and Pierce streets.

On Oct. 7 at 2:17 a.m. Christian Neyland, 18, of 1103 Tanner Hall, was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Tanner.

On Oct. 7 at 3:03 a.m. Kendell Bowen, 21, of 717 Thompson Hall, was arrested on a McDonough County warrant for failure to appear. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail.

On Oct. 7 at 3:08 p.m. a student reported that her iPhone, valued at $300, had been stolen from the Union Heritage Room. The theft is under investigation.

On Oct. 7 at 5:36 p.m. a student reported the theft of an Xbox and accessories, valued at $210, from the Corbin Hall second floor lounge. The theft is under investigation.

On Oct. 7 at 5:52 p.m. a student reported the theft of an Xbox and accessories, valued at $270, from the Corbin Hall second floor lounge. The theft is under investigation.

On Oct. 7 at 9:19 p.m. it was reported that a large window in the Higgins Hall first floor lounge had been broken. The incident is under investigation (a damage estimate was not available).

On Oct. 7 at 9:23 p.m. Brad Moore, 31, of 1014 E. Wheeler St., was issued a notice to appear Nov. 13 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of drug paraphernalia near University Village.
