Office of Public Safety Report - 2012-10-19 to 2012-10-22

On Oct. 19 at 1:13 p.m. the Office of Public Safety was called for a report of a sexual assault that occurred on campus Oct. 17. A female student reported to OPS that on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at approximately 9:20 p.m., while walking near the north side of Tanner Hall on the exterior steps between the first and second floors, an unknown male approached her from behind, pulled her hooded sweatshirt over her head and sexually assaulted her. Due to the hood being pulled around the female student's face, a description of the suspect could not be provided. No weapons were reported. The incident is under investigation. A timely warning was issued at 3:45 p.m. Friday.

On Oct. 19 at 5:20 p.m. Jonathan Stewart, 20, of 526 Olson Hall, was arrested in the Corbin-Olson Dining Center on a McDonough County warrant for failure to appear. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail.

On Oct. 19 at 9:05 p.m. two students in Higgins Hall were judicially referred for failure to evacuate during a fire alarm.

On Oct. 19 at 9:26 p.m. a student in Higgins Hall reported that during a fire alarm someone entered his unlocked room and stole an iPod Touch, valued at $250. The theft is under investigation.

On Oct. 20 at 12:32 a.m. four students in the Higgins Hall Lot were judicially referred for possession of cannabis.

On Oct. 20 at 12:56 a.m. Connor Friesner, 19, of 1222 Higgins Hall, was issued a notice to appear Dec. 4 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for open alcohol in public and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in the Commons area.

On Oct. 20 at 2:20 a.m. nonstudent Kenny Ivy, 20, of Fairview Heights, was issued a notice to appear Oct. 20 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis. A student was judicially referred for possession of cannabis.

On Oct. 20 at 2:23 a.m. two students in Q-Lot were judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Oct. 20 at 6:33 a.m. one student on Western Avenue was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and behavior.

On Oct. 20 at 4:27 p.m. a juvenile was charged with a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Q-Lot.

On Oct. 21 at 6:13 p.m. a student in Higgins Hall reported that someone stole his backpack, containing notebooks and textbooks, from his residence hall room. The estimated value of the items is $480. The theft is under investigation.

On Oct. 20 at 8:57 p.m. one student in Q-Lot was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Oct. 21 at 1:53 a.m. Joseph Bradley, 21, of 306A Grote Hall, was arrested for possession of stolen property. He was lodged in McDonough County Jail.

On Oct. 21 at 2:42 p.m. a student in Henninger Hall reported that a laptop, valued at $330, was stolen from the fourth floor lounge. The theft is under investigation.
