Office of Public Safety Report - 2012-11-02 to 2012-11-05

On Nov. 2 at 5:37 p.m. the Office of Public Safety was called to the Spencer Recreation Center for a report of a non-student using a student's ID to access recreation center services. Theft charges may be pending.

On Nov. 3 at 12:24 a.m. Eric Claussen, 20, of 138 Chandler Blvd., was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and attempted criminal trespass to a vehicle in Q-Lot. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail.

On Nov. 3 at 4:21 p.m. a student reported that her vehicle was scratched while parked in the Lincoln-Washington lot. Damage was estimated at $1,200. The incident is under investigation.

On Nov. 3 at 5:08 p.m. a student reported that at 1:15 p.m., while at an event on the Sherman Hall front lawn, she was threatened by a non-student during an argument. The report is under investigation.

On Nov. 3 at 7:19 p.m. two students in Higgins Hall were judicially referred for failure to evacuate during a fire alarm.

On Nov. 3 at 8:14 p.m. a student reported while outside of Higgins Hall he was struck in the leg by a BB. The report is under investigation.

On Nov. 3 at 10:24 p.m. a student reported that his roommate threatened him with bodily harm. The report is under investigation.

On Nov. 4 at 2:12 a.m. Christian Alcantara, 21, of 200 Wigwam Hollow Rd., Apt. 306, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol near the North Charles bus gate. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail.

On Nov. 4 at 2:14 a.m. Michael Capizzano, 23, of 538 N. Western Ave., was issued a notice to appear Dec. 11 for open alcohol in public in L-Lot.

On Nov 4 at 5:55 p.m. an individual reported as he entered his vehicle in the Union Lot, an unknown male approached him and asked a question. Another unknown male then appeared and opened the rear driver's side door and stole a backpack containing a laptop, an iPad and case, a power cord, and two books. The estimated value of the stolen items was placed at $1,620. The theft is under investigation.

On Nov. 4 at 9:30 p.m. a student reported that his iPod (no value given) was stolen from his Tanner Hall room. The theft is under investigation.

On Nov. 5 at 7:11 a.m. a student reported that various items had been stolen from his Corbin Hall room. The report was incomplete at press time.
