Campus Crime Reports

Office of Public Safety Report - 2012-11-28 to 2012-11-30

On Nov. 28 at 1:43 p.m. officers from the WIU Office of Public Safety and the Macomb Fire Department responded to the Corbin/Olson dining area for a report of smoke coming from a grill. There was no fire and no injuries were reported.

On Nov. 28 at 4:40 p.m. Emmanuel Okereke, 29, of 203 Charleston Blvd., was arrested for possession of stolen property less than $500 for having a laptop computer in his possession that was reported stolen Nov. 11. Okereke transported to the McDonough County Jail at 6:15 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Nov. 29 at 1:59 a.m. Thomas Wortmann, Jr., 18, of 813 Tanner Hall, was issued a notice to appear Jan. 8 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Nov. 29 at 5:54 a.m. officers from the WIU Office of Public Safety and the Macomb Fire Department responded to the first floor of Bayliss Hall for an oven that was smoking. There was no fire and no injuries were reported.

On Nov. 29 at 5:52 p.m. a student was issued a judicial referral for behavior for violating a University trespass order.

On Nov. 29 at 10:22 p.m. two students were issued judicial referrals for cannabis.

On Nov. 30 at 1:35 a.m. Keelege R. Edington, 19, of Chicago, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and disobeying a stop sign at the intersection of North Charles and West Pierce streets. Edington transported to the McDonough County Jail at 2:53 a.m. where she was lodged pending bond.
