Office of Public Safety Report - 2013-02-22 to 2013-02-25

On Feb. 22 at 4:33 p.m. Rachel Albanito, 20, of 1418 Washington Hall, was arrested in Washington Hall on a McDonough County warrant for failure to pay or appear. She was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 5:32 p.m. where she was lodged pending bond.

On Feb. 22 at 9:53 p.m. Victor Bolanos, 19, of 1120 Tanner Hall, was issued a notice to appear April 2 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Tanner.

On Feb. 22 at 10:52 p.m. nonstudent Alexander Cruz, 20, of 129 Chandler Blvd., was issued a notice to appear April 20 on Macomb City ordinance violations for possession of cannabis and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in the 900 block of West Adams street.

On Feb. 23 at 2:41 a.m. nonstudent Harley Zeis, 18, of Arlington Heights, was arrested on University Drive for driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 5:18 a.m. where he was lodged pending bond. Brody Wilhelmi, 19, of 1225 Higgins Hall, was issued a notice to appear April 2 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. A juvenile was taken into custody for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams).

On Feb. 23 at 3:08 a.m. Suheyl Toprak, 21, of 314 Olson Hall, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended and driving too fast for conditions in the 1100 block of Western Avenue. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 5:18 a.m. where he wad lodged pending bond. Nonstudent Deniz Mutlu, 20, of Elmwood Park, was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 5:18 a.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Feb. 23 at 1:31 p.m. a student reported that her iPad, valued at $400, had been stolen from the Corbin-Olson dining center. The theft is under investigation.

On Feb. 23 at 1:50 p.m. nonstudents Edwin Rusinki, 20, of Tinley Park, Brandon Mahoney, 19, of Orland Park, and Neil Chaudhari, 19, of Tinley Park, were each issued a notice to appear April 2 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Q-Lot. Rusinki was also issued a notice to appear on an ordinance violation for false ID. One student was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On Feb. 23 at 7:31 p.m. a student reported that on Feb. 21 someone stole his iPod, valued at $120, while on a Go West bus. The theft is under investigation.

On Feb. 23 at 9:50 p.m. nonstudent John Gutierrez, 19, of Chicago, was arrested for criminal trespass to property and possession of cannabis (less than 2.5 grams). He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 10:52 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Feb. 23 at 11:10 p.m. Michael Plocharczyk, 20, of 416 Henninger Hall, was issued a notice to appear April 2 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia in Henninger. Two other students were judicially referred for drugs.

On Feb. 23 at 11:35 p.m. Armani Robertson, 24, of 311 East Village, was issued a notice to appear March 2 on a Macomb City ordinance for a loud party.




On Feb. 24 at 12:53 a.m. the fire alarm pull station on the first floor of Olson Hall had been activated. There was no smoke and there was no fire, and no injuries were reported.

On Feb. 24 at 2:24 a.m. John Mixen, 19, of 1116 Tanner Hall, was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor in Tanner Hall. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 2:56 a.m. where he was lodged pending bond.

On Feb. 24 at 12:07 p.m. a student reported that someone had entered his unlocked Tanner Hall room and stole prescription medications. The theft is under investigation.

On Feb. 24 at 2:04 p.m. a female student reported that she was sexually assaulted by a male known to her. The incident is under investigation.

On Feb. 24 at 7:28 p.m. a student reported that $20 cash had been stolen from his locked locker at the Spencer Student Recreation Center. The theft is under investigation.

On Feb. 24 at 9:18 p.m. one student in Tanner Hall was judicially referred for behavior.
