Office of Public Safety Report - 2013-02-25 to 2013-02-27
On Feb. 25 at 9:27 a.m. OPS officers and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the elevator lobby on the sixth floor of Higgins Hall. No smoke or fire was found and no injuries were reported. The alarm was reset.
On Feb. 25 at 11:35 a.m. a student in Higgins Hall reported the theft of various items, valued at $75, from her residence hall room since October 2012. The incident is under investigation.
On Feb. 25 at 2:15 p.m. Darryll L. Ballard, 18, of 1507 Higgins Hall, was arrested in Higgins Hall for theft. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 2:49 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.
On Feb. 25 at 2:30 p.m. an employee reported criminal damage to the control panel in an elevator in Higgins Hall. No equipment replacement estimate was available; labor to repair the damage was estimated at $200.
On Feb. 25 at 7:57 p.m. Markwan J. Wiley, 21, of 1215 Lincoln Hall, was issued a notice to appear April 2 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia in Lincoln Hall.
On Feb. 25 at 10:19 p.m. Piaget N. Powell, 19, of 912 Higgins Hall, was issued a notice to appear April 2 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia in Higgins Hall.
On Feb. 26 at 2:05 p.m. a student in Tanner Hall reported the theft of a Macintosh laptop computer (valued at $1,200) and a Nike duffel bag (valued at $35) from her residence hall room on Feb. 22. The incident is under investigation.
