On Feb. 27 at 12:03 p.m. a student came to Mowbray Hall to report a bag stolen, which contained clothing and prescription medication. The theft is under investigation.
On Feb. 27 at 2:37 p.m. a student reported his wallet, valued at $20, and its contents had been stolen from the Rec Center on Feb. 25. The theft is under investigation.
On Feb. 27 at 8:13 p.m. a WIU employee reported that designs and words had been burned into the wall of an elevator in Tanner Hall. Damage was estimated at $250. The incident is under investigation.
On Feb. 27 at 3:05 p.m. nonstudent Alejandro Velasquez, Jr., 22, of Addison, was arrested in Mowbray Hall for theft over $500 for the alleged theft of a laptop computer. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail at 6:13 p.m. pending bond. As part of the same incident, a student was also issued a judicial referral for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Feb. 27 at 4:25 p.m. a student reported that his iPhone, valued at $200, was stolen from the Rec Center. The theft is under investigation.
On Feb. 28 at 8:08 a.m. a student in Henninger Hall reported his cell phone, valued at $300, and wallet, valued at $15, were stolen from his room. A debit card from the wallet was later used at a Macomb business to charge $54.10 in merchandise. The theft is under investigation.
On Feb. 28 at 4:51 p.m. a student in Bayliss Hall reported his wallet was stolen from his room on Feb. 22. A debit card from the wallet was later used at a Macomb business to charge $50.26 in merchandise. The theft is under investigation.
