Office of Public Safety Report - 2013-03-04 to 2013-03-06
On March 4 at 4:53 p.m. a student in Higgins Hall reported his iPhone and case, valued at $230 total, were stolen from a Higgins Hall laundry room sometime around 10 p.m. on March 3. The incident is under investigation.
On March 4 at 6:55 p.m. former student Xavier C. Purnell, 19, of Chicago, IL, was arrested near Tanner Hall for an outstanding McDonough County warrant, theft under $500, aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting a police officer. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 8:20 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.
On March 4 at 8:59 p.m. a student in Henninger Hall was judicially referred for behavior.
On March 5 at 3:15 a.m. OPS officers and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the 14th floor of Higgins Hall. No smoke or fire was found and no injuries were reported. The alarm was reset.
On March 5 at 4:03 p.m. a student reported criminal damage to her vehicle sometime between 4:30 p.m. March 4 and 3:50 p.m. March 5 while it was parked in the Higgins Hall parking lot. Damage was estimated at $800. The incident is under investigation.
On March 5 at 6:11 p.m. non-student Jawuan R. Roberson, 20, of Hillside, IL, received a ticket for affixing an unauthorized vehicle registration sticker to his vehicle and was arrested in Mowbray Hall on two counts of possession of a lost or mislaid credit/debit card and for affixing an unauthorized vehicle registration sticker. He was transported to the McDonough County Jail at 8:06 p.m. where he was lodged pending bond.
