Keynote Speaker: Erin Merryn, WIU Alumna

Erin Merryn is an internationally recognized author, speaker, and child abuse advocate and activist. Erin published her childhood diary recounting six years of sexual abuse into a book called Stolen Innocence and has since published three more books. Erin has worked with legislators to sponsor "Erin's Law," a bill that mandates all public schools implement a prevention-oriented child sexual above program. Her law has now been passed in 37 states. 

Erin has shared her story in over two hundred publications and in television appearances on Oprah, Today, Good Morning America, and CNN, among others. Glamour magazine named Erin "Woman of the Year" in 2012, and People magazine named her one of fifteen women changing the world in 2014.
