Wind Ensemble's President's Concert

History:

Records on file indicate the first concert dedicated to the president of Western Illinois University was given by the Wind Ensemble in 1966 by Director of Bands, Forrest Suycott. President Arthur Knoblauch was the first sitting president to be celebrated in this way.

Current:

The repertoire for the annual President's Concert is carefully selected to entertain the president (and guests) with an eclectic offering of lighter, thematic compositions mixed with genres (or even specific musical artists/compositions) requested by the president. The audience can also expect the Wind Ensemble to include at least one jaw-dropping demonstration of its musical prowess as one of the nation's premiere collegiate wind bands.
