These scholarships may apply to any student
in the School of Music who meets the stated criteria.

JIM AND CLAUDIA MCCAIN MUSIC BUSINESS SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established in March 2007 and is open to all Music Business majors who hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0. The award is renewable contingent upon continued enrollment as a Music Business major, maintenance of a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, and demonstration of outstanding qualities for work ethic, contributions to the School of Music, leadership skills, commitment to the field of Music Business, and knowledge of particular field of interest in Music Business. The award is $1,000 annually and recipients are selected by the Scholarship Committee in consultation with the Director of Music Business.

THE WANNINGER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Wanninger Foundation was established in 1984 by the children of Forrest and Mary Wanninger in recognition of their parents’ long dedication to the teaching of music and English. This award is rotated annually between the School of Music and Department of English. Scholarships are available to students whose educational careers were interrupted for at least two years and now have decided to continue their education. Recipients must be full time and pursuing a degree in either education, liberal arts in education, or vocal performance. Undergraduate recipients must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Graduate recipients must have a 3.0 GPA. Amount varies.

NAMM AWARD

$750 each year is given by the National Association of Music Merchants to Music Business major(s) who have successfully completed 4 semesters of Music Theory, 4 semesters of Applied Study, Economics and Accounting, and earn a high GPA. It is administered through the College Music Society/NAMM Foundation to juniors/seniors studying music with a GPA of 3.0 or above. Recipients are expected to attend the NAMM Show and must plan to intern in the music products industry. Application should be made to Courtney Blankenship and selection is made by NAMM.

DAVID AND SUSAN REEM SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EXCELLENCE

The Reems were motivated to establish these scholarships by the extremely positive experience their sons, John and Dan, enjoyed while students at WIU. These annual scholarships reward undergraduate musical excellence in the areas of voice (baritone), horn and strings. Recipients must be a junior or rising junior music major or a transfer music major entering as a junior or senior, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and participate in the ensembles. Amount varies.
