Music Performance

Music performance majors at Western Illinois University receive a broad liberal arts curriculum with a strong emphasis on performance skills. These skills are refined in one-on-one applied lessons with our world-renowned artist faculty members and in our nationally recognized large ensembles. In addition to performance, all music students take courses in music theory, ear-training, music history, and have the opportunity to take music electives in other areas like music business or composition.

Students interested in majoring in music performance should schedule a time to visit campus and take a lesson with their prospective faculty! You can find more information on the individual applied studio pages and by clicking here for undergraduate programs and here for graduate programs.
