Minor in Dance

The Minor in Dance has both remarkable breadth and depth for a minor area of study. Dance minors are not only introduced to several styles of dance (ballet, modern, and jazz), the curriculum allows students to pursue second-level and third-level classes in these styles. There are also options to take tap dance, composition and dance history and philosophy.

The minor is a perfect complement to students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with the Acting Option. The minor particularly complements majors in Art, Physical Education, Exercise Science, RPTA (Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration), Music Therapy, Health Sciences, or any other major as well.

Dance minors have pursued advanced dance degrees such as the Master of Fine Arts, Master of Arts in Dance Education, or the PhD and gone on to form their own dance companies, studios, or taught dance at the college or university level.
