An Associate Professor and Head of Humanities for the Department of Theatre and Dance at Western Illinois University, Jason earned his BFA in Speech Communication at Augustana College, his MFA in Acting at Western Illinois University, and also studied art, literature and music in Vienna, Austria.

As Head of Humanities for the department, Jason teaches Introduction to Theatre, Multicultural Theatre, Play Analysis, Playwriting, and graduate Play Analysis.

Selected directing credits include: Forever Plaid, Footloose, The Nerd, Sex Drugs and Rock N' Roll and It's Just A Ride, based on the work of Bill Hicks. His selected writing experience includes six shows for the Heritage Theatre, screenplays commissioned by Benway Productions and the Stars Satellite Network and numerous one-man shows that he has performed in as well.

Jason is also the creator/producer of Western Illinois University's Bring Your Own Play Playwriting Festival (B.Y.O.P. )

He has also been involved in commercial and industrial voice-over work for businesses and schools in the Quad Cities area for the over last 15 years. For several years, he has been the public address announcer for all men's and women's basketball games at WIU.
