Students wishing to do an internship for academic credit must secure approval prior to beginning the internship from the Department Chairperson. Students must identify a faculty mentor to oversee the student and who will evaluate the student self-assessement.
Use the following checklist for setting up the internship.
- Initial consultation with appropriate faculty member
- Contact the agency/company
- Set up the internship (hours, etc.) under the supervision of an appropriate faculty member
- Meet with the Department Chairperson to sign up for course credit.
- Do the internship
- Fill out a Student Feedback Form (grade will not be given for the course credit until this form and the evalaution from the internship supervisor have been completed
