The Department of Geography is pleased to welcome three new faculty members: Dr. Yongxin Deng, Dr. Redina Herman, and Dr. Su-Yeul Chung.
Dr. Deng, a 2005 graduate of the University of Southern California, will teach classes in physical geography, GIS and world regional geography. His research interests include environmental modeling, digital terrain analysis and fuzzy classification methods. |
Dr. Herman, a 2003 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will teach meteorology courses including atmospheric dynamics. A postdocotral Associate at the University of Illinois from 2003 to 2005, Dr. Herman's resarch interests relate to the impact of aircraft emissions on the environment and analysis of interactions between gravity waves and large-scale atmospheric flows. |
Dr. Chung, a 2005 graduate of the Ohio State University, will teach world regional geography. His research interests include examination of urban racial and ethnic segregation. |
