Chase Pelletier, a senior earning dual Geography and Computer Science degrees, has been selected to receive an Outstanding Senior in Geography Award from the Illinois Geographical Society. The Society recognizes senior geography students for superior accomplishments in geographical study as well as for contributions to the department. The award, which includes a $50 gift, which will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the IGS April 29 in Glen Ellyn.
In addition to achieving academic excellence, Chase been an active member of both the Gamma Theta Upsilon honor society and the Student Society of Geography. During the 2005-2006, he also served as a First Year Experience Peer Mentor. Chase will graduate this May and will begin pursuit of a Master's Degree in Geography in the Fall.
