
Welcome to the web site of the Western Illinois University Department of Geology. The Department of Geology is part of the College of Arts and Sciences and offers courses leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. Graduates may enter industrial or governmental jobs in environmental geology, engineering geology, oil, mining geology, or continue their education in graduate programs at other universities. In addition to the fundamental courses, the department offers a selection of advanced electives in mineral and hydrogeology, geophysics, geomorphology, tectonics, and applied geology. Majors must also take related courses in mathematics, chemistry and physics, or biology. |
