Admission Procedures (Go to WIU's Graduate Home Page)

Once an application and all transcripts have been received in the School of Graduate Studies, the Graduate Studies personnel will review the application and determine full admission, probationary admission, or no admission to Graduate Studies at WIU. If recommended for full or probationary admission, the application and other documents will be forwarded to the Department of Instructional Design and Technology for consideration.

If this application packet is missing the essay, the student is notified about the missing information by the IDT department. Admission to the program is based upon applicant's undergraduate grade point average (GPA), and the applicant's writing skills.

Reentering Students

Students in good standing who have discontinued graduate work for more than one full year must file a Graduate Application for Readmission with the Graduate Studies office.

Transfer Students

Graduate students in good academic standing at WIU who wish to transfer into the IDT MS Degree program may do so by filing a letter of intent with the Graduate School and the Department of Instructional Design and Technology. Transfer students are subject to the same admission requirements as new students.

International Students
