Event Rules
GENERAL EVENT RULES
Each participant must bring their own equipment, which must meet all regulations of the competition. The chairperson of each event will run the event and has the authority to make final calls and decisions.
For "doubles'" events, partners and age groups must be finalized prior to registering. Please wait to complete your registration if you do not have your event partner and age group finalized. Both parties must complete the registration process including their partners names. The age division of competition for doubles will be determined by the younger age of the two partners. Teams must sign up before the entry deadline.
CORNHOLE/BAGS:
Participants will play the best 2 out of 3 games to 15 (cancellation scoring). Winners advance. Participants can compete in both the Singles and Doubles event. For Doubles, teams will consist of two people. If you and your partner fall in different age categories, your team must play in the lower age bracket. Format will be double elimination. We will start with doubles matches and then have singles matches. This will be an open event. Teams can consist of two males, two females or one male & one female.
BASKETBALL FREE THROWS:
Participants each shoot twenty-five (25) free throws from the free throw line. Winners will be determined by the number of baskets made. In cases of ties for award positions, duplicate ribbons will be awarded.
BOWLING:
USBC rules will govern play (https://bowl.com). Participants are encouraged to use their own bowling balls and shoes. House balls and shoes are available. Participants will bowl three (3) games in singles competition. No handicap system will be used. Doubles scores will be calculated by combining the 3-game scores of each doubles team member. Bowlers entering singles and doubles will be considered as one event for the registration process. In cases of ties for award positions, duplicate ribbons will be awarded.
DISC GOLF:
Disc Golf will be played on the 9-hole Sipolt Memorial Disc Golf Course on the campus of Western Illinois University. Disc golfers must supply their own equipment. Disc Golfers can sign up for 9 and 18 holes (one event for the registration process). Disc golfers entered in the 18-hole competition shall complete the course twice. Disc Golfers entering both the 9-hole and 18-hole divisions will have their front-nine score count for their 9-hole score.
GOLF:
Golfers can sign up for 9 and 18 holes (one event for the registration process). USGA rules apply. Tee boxes will be adjusted for different divisions. Winter rules will be played. No handicap system will be used. Golfers entering both the 9-hole and 18-hole divisions will have their front-nine score count for their 9-hole score. In cases of ties for award positions, duplicate ribbons will be awarded.
PICKLEBALL:

Age Groups 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, Friday, April 24, 11a.m. YMCA 400 East Calhoun St. Macomb, Ill.
Age Groups 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m. Brophy Hall, WIU Campus

Event Entries: Event registration is available on a first come, first served basis. Due to limited court availability, a cap of eight team entries per Division Age Group will be accepted. Entries received after the cap has been reached will be placed on a waitlist and notified of their status. Entry fees for teams not accepted will be returned. Registration Deadline is Friday, April 10, 2026.
Your events and partners should be finalized prior to registering. Please wait to complete your registration if you do not have your event age group and partner finalized. Your age group will be determined by the age of the younger player on your team. - Equipment: Each participant must bring their own equipment, which must meet all regulations of the competition. - Games: Each age group/division will be divided into two 4-team pools that will play 3 round robin games (games will be played to 15 points, win by 2). The winners of each pool will play for first and second place. The second-place team in each pool will play for third place.

Awards: Ribbons will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place participants in each age category for men, women and mixed doubles. Ribbons will be distributed at the time of the event.

SWIMMING:
USA Rules will govern competition. We will be using a 25-meter pool. Starters will use the command "Swimmers to your mark" "Go"
TABLE TENNIS:
Single-elimination singles tournament best two out of three games to 11 points, (win by two). Players must wear dark shirt and rubber-soled shoes. Orange shirts or jackets are not permitted for competition, per USA Table Tennis rules. All matches will be conducted in accordance with USA Table Tennis rules (https://www.usatt.org/), except as modified herein. A participant's paddle must meet USTTA competition guidelines.
TRACK and FIELD:
Preregistration is required. AAU rules will govern competition.
- Age divisions may be grouped for convenience of running the meet, but awards will be given for place within your own age group.
- Meter distances will be used in the running events.
- In the case of inclement weather, some track and field events will be moved indoors (Western Hall on WIU campus) or cancelled. We will try to notify participants of any weather delays, changes in locations, or cancellations via email.
- Maximum spike length shall be 1/4″ for track events.
- Those requiring heats will be run in randomly drawn heats.
- Two false starts by an individual disqualifies him/her from that competition.
- All races will be run as timed finals.
- Walking race: One-mile race; contact must be maintained with ground at all times; the leg on the ground must be straightened at the knee for at least one moment of each stride.
- Field event participants with track conflicts should check in to their field event to avoid being scratched.
- Equipment weights for field events is determined by age group.
