Registration and myWIU 

When Can I Register For My Courses? 

Once you complete your check-in with International Admissions and the Immigration Specialist at new student orientation, you will be able to register.

How Many Courses Do I Take Each Semester? 

International undergraduate students must enroll for a minimum of 12 semester hours for the fall and spring semester. However, the normal or average number of semester hours taken by an undergraduate student is 15-16 semester hours. The maximum allowed each semester is 18 semester hours.

International graduate students must enroll for a minimum of nine semester hours of credit during the fall and spring. The maximum number of hours each semester is 15 semester hours.

When Do I Receive My Ecom Username?

Your Ecom Username will be included in your acceptance email and official acceptance letter. It can also be found found in STARS under ‘Student Addresses’.

How do I activate my WIU email account (ECom)?

You should  activate your WIU email and check it often. All communications from WIU, including important information regarding next steps and billing information, will be sent to this email. Additionally, if you are awarded an assistantship, all employment documents will be sent to this address. 

What is Student/Alumni Records System (STARS)?

STARS is the main portal that allows students to view their student account, pay bills, register for classes once restrictions are removed, and view your grades and other important information. To log-in, you will need your WIU ID number and your initial password will be your 8-digit date of birth (mmddyyyy).
