PAS Awards Grants to COFAC Faculty

MACOMB, IL – The Performing Arts Society (PAS) recently awarded a total of $21,450 in competitive grants to Western Illinois University College of Fine Arts and Communication Faculty.

This year, PAS awarded grants to seven projects as part of its Academic Support Program (ASP). This year's recipients included:

• Jeffrey Brown and Tammie Walker, School of Music, inaugural Western Illinois University Piano Festival: guest recital and masterclass

• James Caldwell, School of Music, 26th annual New Music Festival

• Richard Hughey, School of Music, President's International String Quartet scholarships

• Ta-Teh Ku, Department of Art, K-12 community art program

• Kevin Nichols, School of Music, Brazilian percussionist Dedé Sampaio: concert and two-day residency

• Tim Waldrop, Department of Art, exploring media project and exhibition

• Bruce Walters, Department of Art, Exploring NASA: projected video and soundtrack
