40th Annual International Bazaar Coming to Western March 1, 2

MACOMB, IL – For the 40th year, the multicultural experience of the Western Illinois University International Bazaar will come to the Macomb campus from 6 – 9 p.m. Friday, March 1 and from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

This year's milestone bazaar is themed, "A Peaceful World Starts with Me," in conjunction with the University's theme of "War and Peace: From Personal Conflict to Global Resolution."

The bazaar, held in the University Union's Grand Ballroom, will feature a variety of foods, cultural performances by students from a variety of countries, photo displays from study abroad opportunities and a silent auction.

Admission is $5 for students and the public and $2 for children ages 6-10. Tickets will be available at the door.

This year's event is being organized by the International Friendship Club and Casa Latina Cultural Center.

A first-ever International Fashion Show will be held Monday, Feb. 25, from 7-9 p.m., to open the activities surrounding the Bazaar. International students from WIU will showcase clothing from their country.

The event is open free to the public.
