MACOMB, IL – Sterling High School senior Duncan Gingrich, of Sterling, IL, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Gingrich has not yet decided on a major.
Gingrich said he chose Western because of the Centennial Honors Scholarship and the location of the school.

"The campus is excellent," he said. "The education offered is robust and substantial, and potential students will find a myriad of extracurricular activities, programs of study and sources of entertainment."

In high school, Gingrich was involved in Scholastic Bowl, choir, school plays and played on the tennis and cross country teams, in addition to serving an internship with the Sterling Schools Foundation and helping with the production of Golden Warrior Radio broadcasts of football and basketball games.
