WIU Saxophone Studio Recital April 28

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University School of Music Saxophone Studio will perform a recital at 8 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Students of the studio will perform selected pieces. The program includes:

Brittany Robertson, a freshman music therapy student from Galesburg, IL, performing "Sonata (1939)," by Paul Creston.

Kevin Liu, a graduate jazz studies student from Tainan, Taiwan, performing "Moment's Notice," by John Coltrane.

Junior music education major Hannah Blum of Paxton, IL, performing "Duo (1964)," by Walter Hartley.

Junior music major Jim Buenning of Geneseo, IL, performing "Confirmation," by Charlie Parker.

Steven Olson, a junior music education major from Moline, IL, performing "Diversions (1990)," by Morton Gould.

Michael Kennedy, graduate music student from Woodridge, IL, performing "All or Nothing at All," by Arthur Altman. The Jazz Studio Orchestra's Rhythm Section will accompany him.

Narae Joo or Jasmin Arakawa will accompany all saxophonists, except Kennedy.

All saxophonists are students of the studio of WIU Professor John Vana.
