Kozlowski Memorial Golf Tournament Set for Aug. 24

MACOMB, IL – The fifth annual Gene Kozlowski Memorial Four Ball Scramble golf tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course in Macomb.

The tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. and the registration fee is $50 per golfer.

Kozlowski, who passed away in 2008, was chair of WIU's Department of Theatre. He retired from the University in 2005, after 32 years of service.

While at Western, Kozlowski directed more than 50 productions and he served as head of Western's acting program, guest director of the State of Illinois Repatory Theatre and artistic and managing directors of WIU's Regional Touring Theatre Company. He also wrote nine plays that were produced at local and regional theatres, as well as writing one screenplay, three industrial films and a children's television show.

Proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the Gene Kozlowski New Playwright Fund.
