Enrich YOU at WIU! Programs for Employees

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's Human Resources office is sponsoring several programs for WIU employees to be held during the fall semester.

The balance between work and home life can be difficult to achieve. Western's Human Resources office is offering programs and events this year centered on the work/life balance for all WIU employees, including faculty, staff and administrators.

Programs include:

Got Stress? Get Playing! – University Union Sandburg Lounge
Wednesday, Sept. 18, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
Jim DiTulio, director of the University Counseling Center (UCC), and employees from the UCC will teach stress management techniques.

Golf Scramble Extravaganza – WIU Harry Mussatto Golf Course
Friday, Sept. 20, 12:30 p.m.
Put together a four-person team or sign up as a single and join a team to play 18 holes with a shotgun start. Carts, meal and prizes included in a $45 per person fee. Payment is required to register. Rental clubs are available for $5 per set.

THINK PURPLE… With Style! – University Union Sandburg Theater
Thursday, Oct. 3, 2-3:30 p.m.
The WIU Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising and Hospitality Department will host a runway show displaying the latest in purple fashions for WIU's casual Fridays.

Cyber Aggression and Campus Safety – University Union Lincoln Room
Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
Law Enforcement and Justice Administration (LEJA) Professor Jill Myers will offer suggestions for identifying, understanding, addressing, avoiding and preventing cyber aggressive behavior.

Identifying and Preventing Campus Violence – University Union Sandburg Lounge
Thursday, Nov. 7, 1:30 – 3 p.m.
This program will explore the warning signs associated with violent acts. LEJA Assistant Professor and retired FBI Special Agent John Schafer will discuss the types of activities and signs to look for to help prevent acts of violence.

Healthier Holidays: Emotionally, Physically and Financially – Webinar
Tuesday, Nov. 19, 10 – 11 a.m.
Attend the one-hour training to learn strategies to handle stress, change in relationships, finances, and eating and drinking during the holidays. Register to receive the login connection.
