LEJA Faculty to Present 'Counterterrorism Strategies' Sept. 11

MACOMB, IL – Faculty from the Western Illinois University School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration will serve as experts for a "Counterterrorism Strategies" seminar Wednesday, Sept. 11. The presentation will take place from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 11 in Stipes Hall 121 and is open free to the public.

Faculty presenters and their topics include:

  • John Schafer, assistant professor of LEJA, psychologist and former Federal Bureau of Investigation analyst: "Interviewing Extremists and Terrorists"

  • Terry Mors, director of the School of LEJA and former commander of the Gurnee, IL, Police Dept.: "Public Participation in Combating Terrorism"

  • Dean Alexander, associate professor of LEJA, director of the Homeland Security Research Program and member of the Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council Executive Board for the Central District of Illinois: "Family-Affiliated Extremism/Terrorism Responses"

"Counterterrorism Strategies" is organized by the Homeland Security Research Program and the School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration.
