MACOMB, IL – The annual Juneteenth celebration, held in past years in Macomb's Chandler Park, will not be held in 2014 due to staffing issues and time constraints.

The event, sponsored by the Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center (GBCC) at Western Illinois University, marks the end of slavery and traditionally includes a celebratory program and food samplings.

For more information, call the GBCC at (309) 298-2220.
