MACOMB, IL -- Jack Elfrink, an accounting professor and former associate dean of the College of Business and Technology (CBT) at Western Illinois University, has been named interim dean of the college, effective July 14, according to WIU Provost Ken Hawkinson.

Elfrink replaces CBT Dean Tom Erekson, who has accepted a position at Eastern Kentucky University. He joined Western's faculty and was named chair of the Department of Accounting and Finance in August 2006. Previously, Elfrink was a professor and dean of the Harmon College of Business Administration at Central Missouri State University.

"We wish Dr. Erekson well in his new position at EKU. We appreciate his years of service at Western Illinois University," Hawkinson said. "I would like to thank Dr. Elfrink for stepping into the role of interim dean. His years of administrative experience will continue the College of Business and Technology's mission of preparing students for professional careers and lifelong learning in a globalized economy."
