MACOMB, IL — Italian-African filmmaker and social activist Fred Kudjo Kuwornu will visit the Western Illinois University campus Wednesday, Nov. 5, to speak from 7-9 p.m., in the Sandburg Theater.

Kuwornu will screen and discuss his documentary film, "Inside Buffalo," a multi-awarded documentary shot in Italy and the United States. It tells the "forgotten" story of the 92nd African-American infantry division of 15,000 soldiers who served in Italy during World War II. He will also discuss his latest work on immigration in Italian society, followed by a question and answer session and a reception in the Sandburg Lounge.

The WIU Film Club, the WIU Department of English and Journalism, President Jack Thomas' office and the departments of African American Studies and Broadcasting are sponsors for the event. For more information, email Associate Professor Roberta Di Carmine at r-dicarmine@wiu.edu.
