MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University faculty, staff and students using Amtrak to get to and from Macomb during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday weekend will have three train options on Sunday, Nov. 30 upon returning to Macomb.

To accommodate an expected increase in holiday passengers, Amtrak and the Illinois Department of Transportation are offering additional round trips Nov. 30 between Chicago and Bloomington/Normal and on the Chicago-Quincy corridor, via Galesburg and Macomb.

On the Chicago to Quincy corridor, Amtrak normally originates two daily round trips, the Illinois Zephyr and the Carl Sandburg . In order to accommodate one additional round trip Nov. 30, Train 383 will depart Chicago 20 minutes later than usual and operate on a modified timetable to Quincy that day only.

When booking return travel from Chicago to Macomb on Nov. 30, three train options will be listed, including an 11:30 a.m. departure from Union Station (2:57 p.m. arrival in Macomb).
