Services Set for Rylander

MACOMB, IL -- Funeral services for Western Illinois University student Ty Rylander, 20, will be held at 10:30 am. Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Pittsfield United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Rylander, a freshman agriculture major, passed away Nov. 17 in Macomb.

Rylander was a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity. A 2013 graduate of Pittsfield High School, he was a member of the Saukee football, basketball and baseball teams and the Pittsfield FFA.

WIU Mourns Student Death

MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University community is saddened to learn of the death of student Ty Rylander, a WIU freshman from Pittsfield, who died during the evening hours on Monday, Nov. 17 as a result of an automobile accident on Route 67, south of Macomb.

Rylander, 20, was pursuing a bachelor's degree in agriculture. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity.

"We extend our sincere condolences to Ty's family, friends and classmates," said Western Illinois University President Jack Thomas.

University Counseling Center staff are available for students and other members of the University community who wish to seek assistance. Counselors may be reached by calling (309) 298-2453.
