WIU Kinesiology Hosting Weightlifting Course

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Department of Kinesiology will host a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Course Saturday-Sunday, April 11-12 in Brophy Hall.

Roger Nielson, a senior international level weightlifting coach, will serve as instructor for the class, and will be teaching proper coaching techniques and safety of Olympic lifts.

The course includes classroom and hands-on practical training for proper practice and use of weightlifting techniques when training athletes.

Those who complete the course will become certified as Level 1 Sports Performance Coaches.

Registration for the class is limited at 40 participants and can be completed at wiu.edu/usaw. For more information, email kinesiology@wiu.edu.
