MACOMB, IL – Lanphier High School senior Kaitlynn Fox, of Springfield, IL, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which awards $10,000 per year to academically high-achieving students.

High school students with an ACT score of 30 or higher and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

"WIU had a great program for the major I am interested in, but the deciding factor was the atmosphere of the campus and how welcomed I felt there," Fox said of her WIU decision. "WIU has a beautiful campus and everyone is very welcoming and friendly. They also offer many activities to aid in the college acclimation process."

Fox said she expects to major in forensic psychology at Western.

After graduation from WIU, Fox hopes to pursue a career in forensics and work her way up to be a crime scene investigator.

In high school, Fox participated in band, Math Club, National Honor Society, French Club and a cooperative education program.
