Candidates for Associate Vice President for Student Services Invited to Campus

MACOMB, IL – Three candidates for the open position of associate vice president for student services at Western Illinois University will be on campus next week to interview with University officials and student leaders.

Jason Woods, dean of admission and financial planning at Loras College in Dubuque, IA, will be on campus Monday-Tuesday, Aug. 24-25; Gerilynn Perkins, dean of students at Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL, will be on campus Wednesday-Thursday, Aug. 26-27 and DeAnn Possehl, associate vice chancellor for enrollment management at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, will be on campus Thursday-Friday, Aug. 27-28.

Woods will have an open session with student leaders, faculty, civil service employees and COAP members from 1:45-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 in the University Union Lincoln Room. Perkins' session will be from 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27 in the University Union Capitol Room and Possehl's session will be from 1:45-2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 in the University Union Lincoln Room.

Woods received his bachelor's degree in public relations from Loras College, his master's degree in post secondary education and student affairs from the University of Northern Iowa and his doctoral degree in higher education and organizational change from Benedictine University. He has previously worked as dean of campus student affairs and support services at Loras and as director of campus student affairs and admissions at Ashford University in Clinton, IA.

Perkins received her bachelor's degree in extension education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her master's degree in education-adult education from the University of Minnesota. She has previously worked as director of prospective student relations and assistant registrar at Madison Area Technical College in Madison, WI, and director of prospective student services at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Possehl received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Luther College in Decorah, IA, and her master's degree in counseling from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She has previously worked as interim executive director for enrollment management and as co-director of the first year experience program at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
