MOLINE, IL -- Joe Rives, vice president for planning and Quad Cities, will serve as the Rivermont Collegiate's Spring 2016 Commencement keynote speaker at the school's Friday, June 3 graduation ceremony.

Rives will present "Time Honored and New Traditions on the Road to Continued Success" to the Class of 2016. Students asked for reflective remarks about college choice, expectations, experiences, success and a sampling of other cultures.

"The opportunity to speak at this event is truly a great honor. Western Illinois University and Rivermont Collegiate have a dual enrollment partnership, and this partnership has grown strong. Speaking to their high achieving students is a wonderful opportunity to further our partnership," Rives noted.

Located in Davenport, Iowa, Rivermont Collegiate is the only Pre-K-12 college preparatory school in the Quad Cities, and has provided an alternative to public and parochial school education for over 130 years.

"Rivermont is pleased to extend an invitation to Dr. Rives to speak at the school's 129th Commencement. Rivermont has enjoyed a positive working relationship with Western Illinois University under Dr. Rives's leadership," said Interim Headmaster Curtis Fee. "As part of the College Partners program, many Rivermont seniors take classes at WIU and report fondly of how much they enjoy the classes and the campus. Additionally, WIU leads a computer and technology club on the Rivermont campus, engaging the students in hands-on projects. Rivermont considers WIU a valuable partner in offering quality education in the Quad Cities."
