Fraternity, Sorority Recruitment Schedules Set

MACOMB, IL – Fall recruitment events for fraternities and sororities at Western Illinois University will run through Sunday, Sept. 18.

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) holds a continuous recruitment process. Men can register on Purple Post or at wiu.edu/greeklife. Registration is free and men interested in joining a WIU fraternity should make contact with the individual chapter they are interested in joining.

IFC fraternities participating in recruiting events include Alpha Gamma Rho; Alpha Gamma Sigma; Delta Tau Delta; Delta Upsilon; Pi Kappa Phi; Sigma Alpha Epsilon; Sigma Chi; Sigma Pi; Tau Kappa Epsilon; Theta Chi; and Theta Xi.

The Panhellenic Council (PHC) recruitment process for WIU sororities is open online at wiu.edu/greeklife. Recruitment weekend will be Thursday-Sunday, Sept. 15-18.

Registration is $40 through Sunday, Sept. 4 and increases to $45 Monday, Sept. 5. Women must be registered by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14.

PHC sororities participating in the event include Alpha Sigma Alpha; Alpha Sigma Tau; Chi Omega; Delta Zeta; Phi Sigma Sigma and Sigma Sigma Sigma.

Fraternities and sororities governed by the United Greek Council (UGC) all have independent chapter processes for recruitment. Interested students may fill out the UGC Interest Form on PurplePost or by visiting wiu.edu/greeklife. They should watch for advertisements around campus and social media for the individual chapter intake processes.

UGC organizations participating in the event include Alpha Phi Alpha; Alpha Kappa Alpha; Lambda Theta Alpha; Lambda Theta Phi; Omega Psi Phi; Sigma Lambda Beta; Sigma Lambda Gamma; and Zeta Phi Beta.
