Free Comic Book Day May 6

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University's Malpass Library and Quad Cities campus library will participate in Free Comic Book Day from noon-6 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the WIU Malpass Library, Quad Cities Library, or A Boy and His Tiger comic book store in downtown Macomb.
This international event makes free comic books available to anyone who visits participating independent comic book shops and some libraries. By visiting any of these locations participants will be able to choose from a selection of free comic books.
At Malpass Library, information will be available about the Libraries' graphic novel collection that WIU students will be able to checkout with a valid student ID and community members can checkout by applying for a community borrower card.
"I grew up with comics, and they were an excellent way for me to grow as a reader and explore new worlds," said Dean of University Libraries Michael Lorenzen. "We are happy to be able to help more people enjoy the comic book experience."
