This is the 19th year of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge. In 19 years, more than 66,000 plungers have raised more than $18.4 million for Special Olympics, a not-for-profit organization that offers year-round training and competition in 18 sports for more than 23,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and nearly 20,000 young athletes, ages 2-7, with and without intellectual disabilities. The programming enhances physical fitness, motor skills, self-confidence and social skills and encourages family and community support.
