Emeritus Professor to Present at Rushville Arts and Cultural Center

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Professor Emeritus Fred Jones will give a presentation on his works published by the Western Illinois Folio Press at The Hub Arts and Cultural Center in Rushville at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19.

In November 2017, a landscape work by Jones was part of a large invitational art exhibition at the Riverfront Museum in Peoria, which included 55 artists from the central Illinois region.

Jones gave a presentation on the 17 works published by the Western Illinois Folio Press. Part of the presentation was the Illinois Portfolio that includes the works of major Illinois artists and poets. The 24 works are now permanently installed on the second floor of the Illinois State Library. They are also displayed in the Hub Art Center in Rushville for one month.

Jones will also give an art/poetry workshop to high school students at the Hub Art Center from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 14. He is also currently a part of a southern Illinois watercolor invitational that includes seven other artists at the Cinema Gallery in Urbana, IL.
