The event is free and open to the public and will be held in Riverfront Hall Rooms 103/104. A panel discussion on the topic will include presenters Leslie O'Ryan, WIU-QC Counselor Education professor at WIU-QC,Jennifer Glackin, ombudsman of Alternatives for Older Adults, and Pam Myers of Friendship Manor in Rock Island.

According to James Rabchuk, physics professor and assistant dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Social Entrepreneurship Salon was established at WIU-QC in 2016 to explore ways that entrepreneurship can lead to creative solutions that stabilize and grow communities. This year's series, co-sponsored by Western's College of Arts and Science and College of Business and Technology, has the overall theme of "Community."

"We invite the public to join us in exploring the ways in which entrepreneurship can deliberately and positively impact a community's economic, cultural, social, and environmental well-being," Rabchuk said.
