Hartnett Named Interim HR Director at WIU

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University Human Resources Assistant Director Amelia Hartnett has been named interim director of WIU Human Resources, effective Nov. 1. She replaces Cynthia Lotz, who recently accepted a position elsewhere. A national search is underway.

Hartnett was audited to HR assistant director in March 2018. She has served as a human resource manager at WIU since December 2016. Previously, she was a human resource specialist, human resource officer and human resource representative from 2014-2016, office manager in the Women's Center from 2010-2014 and office support specialist in the Department of Psychology from 2009-2010. She also completed an Affirmative Action Administrative Internship in Western's Centennial Honors College in 2013.

Hartnett has also worked as an administrative aide in psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (2006-2009).

Hartnett received her MLAS from WIU, a graduate certificate in Human Resource Management from the University of Illinois at Springfield and her bachelor's degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
