About the WIU Women's Center

The WIU Women's Center's Mission is to promote gender equity through education, support and advocacy and to respond to issues affecting the status of female students, faculty and staff on campus, as well as women in the community and in society.

About the Multicultural Center

The Multicultural Center was officially opened in August 2009, and is located across the street from the University Union. The center is home to the Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center, the Casa Latina Cultural Center and the Women's Center.

The center is unique because it is the first building on Western's Macomb campus to be constructed under green standards, including a grass roof. Being located in one central location gives the three centers a chance to enhance their goals of educational, social and cultural programs and resources that will help focus the campus community's awareness and appreciation of ethnic and gender diversity.

All ticket proceeds from "The Vagina Monologues" performances will benefit the Western Illinois Regional Council-Community Action Agency (WIRC-CAA), a local agency working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

To sign up for auditions, or to be a part of the crew, email Lauren Hoover at le-hoover@wiu.edu
