MACOMB, IL -- And the West Fest 2019 performers are … drumroll …. Morgan Evans and Dylan Scott!
These rising country stars will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 in the University Union Grand Ballroom on the Western Illinois University Macomb campus. Tickets -- $15/students and $20/nonstudents -- go on sale today in the Hainline Theatre box office or online at tinyurl.com/westfest19.
Praised by Rolling Stone as a "savvy performer with strong songwriting chops," the Australian-born Evans is celebrating the release of his debut album "Things That We Drink To." The album features his number one debut U.S. single, "Kiss Somebody" and his chart-rising follow up, "Day Drunk." Evans has been named to People Magazine's "Ones to Watch" list, MusicRow Magazines "Next Big Thing: list and spotlighted as an emerging artist by Rolling Stone, Billboard, CMT, SiriusXM, Pandora and more. Sharing the bill with Taylor Swift, Chris Young and other A-list acts, he is currently on tour with the first leg of Dan + Shay The Tour.
Scott is an American country music singer and songwriter, who released his breakout debut studio album, "Dylan Scott," with its Platinum-certified number one hit "My Girl" and the Gold-certified Top 5 smash "Hooked." Scott's self-titled album landed at number five on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, helping him gather over 585 million on-demand streams with sales topping four million to date. With his "Nothing to Do in Town" EP anticipated April 26, the Louisiana native just wrapped headlining the Nothing to Do in Town Tour 2019 and is set to join Chris Young's Raised on Country Tour 2019 in May. Nominated for Best New Country Artist at the all-genre 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards, Scott was recently named among Country Radio Seminar 2019's coveted New Faces of Country Music Class of 2019.
