First Wednesday Art Program March 6 at WIU

MACOMB,IL – The Western Illinois University Department of Art announces "First Wednesday" to be held from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, March 6 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex (HPA) and the University Art Gallery.
This event is open free to all ages and the department encourages visitors from campus and the surrounding community. Donations from businesses like Blick Art Materials, of Galesburg, IL and the Performing Arts Society (PAS) help keep "First Wednesday" going.
March's First Wednesday will be a celebration of spring.
Garwood Hall Activities:
·Printmaking – Professor Bill Howard, Garwood 12 (first floor)
·Silkscreened Shrinky Dinks – Professors Jenny Knavel and Susan Czechowski, Garwood 11 (first floor)
·Drawing – Professors Jan Clough and Julie Mahoney, Garwood 20 (second floor)
·Children's Activity – Associate Professor Ta-Teh Ku, Garwood 24 (second floor)
·Painting – Professors Tim Waldrop and Damon McArthur, Garwood 25 (second floor)
HPA Activities
· Origami animals – Associate Professor Duke Ousler, HPA 105
· Wrapped beads – Department of Art Chair Kat Myers, HPA 107
· Wheel thrown mandalas – Assistant Professor Ian Shelly, HPA 111
The University Art Gallery will be open late during this event, with Eloisa Guanlao "Line of Sight – Darwin's Finches" Exhibition, which is on display March 5-April 12 on the first and second floor galleries.
