MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Donald S. Spencer Student Recreation Center will host the Midwest Plains Volleyball Club Conference Crossover Event Saturday-Sunday, March 9-10.

Seven nationally ranked volleyball clubs will converge in Macomb for the two-day event, which combines all men's teams from each region, and they are seeded by how they finished in their respective regional tournaments.

The top three seeds (winners of their regionals) are St. Louis A (East Region), Lewis University A (North Region) and University of Nebraska A (West Region). There are 24 teams competing this weekend, and there will be a total of 78 matches over two days. The winner of this particular event has gone on to win the NCVF Men's Division 2 National Championship the last two years.

"We are excited to have the 2019 MWPVC Crossover Event at Western Illinois University this year," said MWPVC Commissioner Nick Collins. "This is the first event that the WIU Men's Club Volleyball team has hosted since joining the conference in 2017. The tournament consists of 24 men's teams and showcase some of the top teams in the conference, as well as in the country. We look forward to bringing this great event to Western Illinois."

The MWPVC started in 2011 as a men's conference and has grown every year. In 2016, the organization added a women's division. This year, there are 30 men's teams and 25 women's teams. There are teams from seven states including Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado.
