MACOMB, IL -- The 11th annual Western Illinois University Department of Communication's Career Preparation Day will be held from 8:45 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the University Union Grand Ballroom.

All communication majors, minors and graduate students are encouraged to attend this event and learn from department alumni about interviewing, networking, job seeking, e-recruiting, transitioning from college student to full-time employee, resume writing, promoting their communication degree and more.

A keynote address, by WIU alumna Jennifer Haney-Crowe, will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the University Union Grand Ballroom. Haney-Crowe is a B2B marketer with more than 18 years of experience developing and executing marketing programs. She is currently the product marketing lead responsible for developing the go-to-market strategy, messaging, value proposition and demand generation programs for the Trustwave Threat Detection and Response services.

The event concludes with a networking and dessert social. The day has become the WIU Department of Communication's largest event and is a success because of donations from program alumni.
